情報芸術コースの2階フロアには「映像音響」「デバイス/プログラミング」「クラフト」が三位一体となり、さまざまなメディアを有機的に結合することができる総合的な制作環境を整え、1階にはプロフェッショナル・レベルのデジタル映像音響スタジオと、オープンなディスカッションを可能にするフリーラウンジが設けられています。同時に、学科専用の高速安定なインターネット回線と広大なストレージを有するファイルサーバー、自由にアクセスできるWiFiネットワークなどが、もうひとつの見えないスタジオとして機能しています。
こうしたコース専用の設備のみならず、情報デザイン・芸術学棟のギャラリーやスタジオを活用することで、さまざまな形態の展覧会や大型のメディアアート作品の制作が可能になっています。さらに隣接する多摩美図書館(伊東豊雄設計)の豊富なリソースと創造的な空間に、身近にアクセスすることができます。
Art & Media Course has designed it’s creative environment on the 2nd floor where students can combine various types of media, such like “Audio Visual”, “Device / Programming” and “Craft”. Also on the 1st floor, there’s professionally digitized audio visual studio and free lounge which enables for open discussions. In addition, Art & Media Course has exclusive network with large server, and free accessible Wifi network which functioning as another invisible studio.
Besides these exclusive facilities, students can present their artworks by using open gallery attached to our building. Also our building is easily accessible to the new library (designed by Toyoo Ito), so students can easily refer to it’s abundant resource.
大型の立体作品やインスタレーションを制作するためには欠かせない、本格的な工作室を完備しています。自由と安全を両立するために、各工作機械の使い方を、実演を交えて紹介する各種講習会も実施しています。
Art & Media Course has furnished the genuine craft studio for creating large-scale installation artworks. We also carry out several workshops by professional lecturers for consisting liberty and safety.

ProToolsとドイツのムジーク・エレクトロニク・ガイザイン社のモニタスピーカにより、高音質の音楽制作・編集ができます。録音用の防音室も備えており、音楽制作のみならず、映像のSEやナレーションを録音することも可能です。
Audio Studio has equipped the latest Protools and monitor speakers of Musikelectronic Geithain (RL901) which enables to create and edit sounds in supreme quality. A soundproof chamber is also attached to the studio, and capable of recording narrations or SE for movies.

完全暗転での撮影や白バック撮影、天井の固定バトンを利用しての機材等吊り下げにも対応した、写真・映像用の本格的な撮影スタジオです。熱発生の多い従来型の白熱灯照明ではなく、熱・消費電力の少ない最新の撮影用蛍光灯照明を採用し、合成素材撮影用のブルーバックカーテンや背景用紙の選択も可能です。
Photographic Studio is correspond to several scenes such like full-black, white-back or blue-back for composite films, and equipments are freely attachable to fixed batons on the roof. Also the studio uses latest fluorescent lamps instead of traditional incandescent lamps for improving heat radiation and saving electricity.
主に映像やアニメーションの演習に使われます。38台のiMacには映像、CG、グラフィックの制作に欠かせない、基本的なアプリケーションをインストールしています。授業での実習に使用するだけでなく、個人の制作にも利用することができます。
The Computer Room usually used in lectures for movies and animations. Basic applications for graphical creations are fully installed in 38 iMacs. Students can use computers freely besides lectures.
プログラムから自律的に生成されたアルゴリズミックウォールが印象的なこの演習室には、MacBookが37台設置されており、プログラミングやネットワークの実習に利用しています。小型のノートパソコンを導入することで、電子回路のハンダ付け作業や、センサーやデバイスの工作など、コンピュータ以外にも机上を自由に活用することができます。
The Interaction room where contains an artwork “Algorithmic Wall” has equipped 37 MacBooks, and usually used in lectures for programming and network managing. Also capable of building circuits and creating devices for connecting materials to various kinds of data.
棟内には総面積約325㎡、天井高約8m、昇降トラス2基を実装する、各学科共用のギャラリースペースがあります。各種展覧会やイベント、講評会などに使用され、ボーダーレスな学生間交流の場として活用しています。
We have an open gallery equipped 2 elevating truss in space of 325 square meter, 8 meter height. The gallery are usually used in various exhibitions, events and criticizing for borderless interchanging of students.
4年間の集大成である卒業制作のなかには、非常に大きなプロジェクトに発展するものもあります。メディア芸術コースではそうしたプロジェクトもサポートできる様に、情報デザインコース・芸術学科との共有スペースであるアートスタジオをアトリエとして解放しています。また、アートスタジオは講評会や各種イベントに使用されることもあります。
Some of graduation works might develop into larger scale. For supporting those projects, senior students are free to use Art Studio as their atelier. Art Studio is also used for exhibitions and events.
2010年4月、多摩美にハッカースペースが誕生しました。自由と意力、すなわちハックの精神にもとづいて、日々創造的な制作を行うための、オープンな工房スペースです。またの名を「超」図工室。 パーソナルな3Dプリンタやカッティング/ソーイング・プリンタを使った、未来のものづくりを体験できます。
Tamabi Hacker Space has established on April 2010. It is an open atelier for daily creation based on “Freedom & Will (Ideology of Tama Art University)”, the spirit of hacker. Students can experience the future of creation from using 3D printers and digital cutting/sewing machines.
ネットワーク空間は、目には見えないもうひとつのスタジオです。情報デザイン棟のネットワークは、独立した学科専用の内部インフラと高速なインターネット回線を持ち、独自のサーバ運用によって多彩なサービスを提供しています。各コースが独立した基幹ネットワークを持っているため、ボトルネックを排した柔軟な運用を実現しているほか、全てのLANアウトレットが近い将来、10Gbps通信に対応出来るよう設計されています。
The network system is another invisible studio for our course. Our network realized various kinds of services, due to fast and exclusive infrastructure with independent server system. Each of our courses has divided nucleus networks, and every LAN outlets are designed to manage 10Gbps communications for the flexible management in the close future.
情報芸術コースでは、学生の多様な表現活動をサポートするために様々な貸し出し機材を取り揃えています。入門機から業務機まで、あるいは制作から発表までを支える機材を、学生は自由に借りることができます。また、高度な技術を要する機材については研究室職員が講習会を開き、学生が安心して利用できる環境づくりを進めています。
Art & Media Course carries large number of equipments to support student’s activities. Students can freely borrow these primer to professional equipments for their creation and presentation. Also we hold several guidances for using professional equipments to enable students to borrow those equipments with relief.
